Caring for indoor tropical plants has been my occupation for more than 20 years. It is the best way to learn about caring for indoor plants in just about any environment.

The best part of this fun job is helping clients with their personal houseplant problems. It makes them happy and it makes me happy. That is why I started this website PlantAndFlowerInfo.com.

House plant questions or problems? You can send a house plant question but before you do, please read this information on watering your indoor plants, how to help keep your house plant's root system healthy and lighting for your house plants. These are most important for your house plant's health and this is some of the information I will refer you to when you send an email.

Post houseplant questions, comments and pictures, find answers to questions or share some indoor houseplant wisdom on the PlantAndFlowerInfo.com Facebook Page, Google+ Page or visit the PlantAndFlowerInfo.com blog.

Customers often ask how to take better care of their own indoor house plants. Sometimes they just want to know how to keep them alive! The information on this website will give you help in solving your plant problems. However, some houseplant problems require individual attention and it is impossible to address them all on a website. So let me know if you have a question after you search through the website information!

Know what you are looking for? Use the site search above or links in the left menu for common house plants. If you are looking to find a good houseplant and don't know what to buy, check out my list of easy to care for plants. If you have never had an indoor plant before you might want to start with something like a Sansevieria as it is very easy to maintain.

Being an animal lover, as many people are, I thought it would be helpful to add a link for those with questions about pets and houseplants, as I have received a few emails with questions on the subject.

Over the years, I have had many animals and plants in the same house and have not had too many problems. I always make my best effort to keep houseplants out of the reach of pets. That can be difficult, especially with cats, as they seem to be able to get just about anywhere they darn well please!

Anyway, this is a link to the ASPCA, Animal Poison Control, Toxic and Non-Toxic Plants list. While I think most animals generally avoid plants that may harm them, you can never be too careful. It is helpful to be aware of those that may be somewhat toxic.

As a note to those of you looking for environmentally friendly, air-cleaning plants - any time you put a plant in your home or office, it is helping to give you cleaner, fresher air, as the leaves and roots clean and filter the air and release oxygen into the environment. So fill your home with houseplants and grow some fresh air. And, I am happy to say, the more plants, the better!

A basic common sense approach to plant care and trusting yourself to make the right decisions will give you the best results with all of your plants. In the interior landscape business for over twenty years, I know that the most important part of plant care is not so much the type of plant you have but the light your plant receives and the watering of your plants in relation to the lighting.

Since most indoor plant problems are related to improper watering and lighting, reading the sections on watering and lighting are most important. I cannot stress this enough as the watering your plant receives is directly related to the light in which your plant is located. Most personal houseplant problems are simply a matter of adjusting the watering.

Included are sections on proper watering techniques, placing your plant in the correct light, the importance of a healthy root system and care of specific plants. These are general care tips and only the person caring for the plant can implement them. So, Plant Lover, read on and I am sure you will find some helpful information.

Identify the plant you have and read about any special needs. Links to specific plant info are on the left menu or use the site search. Learn the basics and put them into practice on the plants you have right now.

Thanks for visiting and come back soon as plant care information, pictures and more are being added all of the time. I hope that your indoor tropical plants and all of your plants and flowers are happy, green and growing because that is why I started this site PlantAndFlowerInfo.com.

If you have indoor plant questions you can send a plant question or visit the PlantAndFlowerInfo blog for interior plant questions and answers, to post your own comment or questions or share some of your indoor plant wisdom with others. Thanks again all of you Plant People...
